Here's what to expect, every step of the way

Simple steps to working with us

We’re super excited you want to join us here at first direct. To help you put your best foot forward, here’s everything you need to know about our recruitment process, including what to expect in the interview.

Step 1: Apply 

 

If it feels like first direct is the right move for you, then it’s time to apply. We’d love to hear from you.

 

Simply follow the instructions to submit your CV.

Step 2: Online Simulator 

 

Next, we’ll get in touch to ask you to complete an online simulator which emulates queries our customers might have and the multiple systems we use.

 

The simulator will assess how well your customers' queries are resolved. 

 

We'll need you to use a laptop or PC for this part, not a phone or tablet

Step 3: Telephone Interview

 

If you ace the simulator, we’ll then give you a call to tell us a bit about your skills in a short telephone interview.

Step 4: Face to Face Interview

 

Should the chat go well then we’d love to meet you!

 

We’ll invite you to attend a face to face interview at either our Leeds or Maxim office (dependent on your location). This will be a skills-based interview including some role play.

Step 5: Values Assessment

 

As well as assessing your skills, we'll also check to see if your values and behaviours match ours at first direct with an online Values Assessment.
